Job Description:

  • $5,000 Sign On Bonus for Eligible candidates
  • Schedule: MondayFriday schedule with no weekend shifts and no travel responsibilities.

  • Performs a variety of cardiac and vascular ultrasound procedures on patients ranging from neonatal to gerontologic.
  • Obtains quality diagnostic scans and assists physicians as needed.
  • Selects practical applications and technical factors to ensure effective departmental processes.
  • Adapts procedures to each patients medical situation, obtaining all necessary information for proper interpretation.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac and vascular anatomy and physiology.
  • Performs echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, contrast and agitated saline studies, and assists with TEE procedures.
  • Conducts carotid exams, abdominal exams, upper and lower extremity arterial/venous studies, and imaging of pre-operative/post-operative bypass grafts, stents, and endarterectomies.
  • Calculates and documents information accurately.
  • Communicates abnormal findings to the reading physicians and notifies them of procedures to be interpreted.
  • Manages time and equipment effectively and works as a team member to provide the best patient care.
  • Participates in performance improvement projects and proactively initiates process improvement ideas.
  • Honors patient's rights by following privacy guidelines and code of ethics with patients, physicians, co-workers, and guests. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


Basic EKG knowledge. [Required]

Must be able to function independently with little or no supervision. [Required]

Must be able to read, write legibly and perform basic mathematics skills. [Required]

Must be able to communicate effectively. [Required]



Education:

High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Associate's of Science [Preferred]

Bachelor's of Science[Preferred]



Field of Study:

Cardiac or Vascular Ultrasound program



Licenses and Certifications:

Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) [Required] OR

Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) [Required]

Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
