Job Description:

Schedule: PRN

Shift: Days

Perform routine and targeted audits of charge capture, billing, and reimbursement processes.Ensure compliance with organizational policies, payer requirements, and federal/state regulations.Identify errors, discrepancies, and patterns of non-compliance to minimize financial risk.Conduct detailed reviews of financial, operational, and clinical data related to billing and reimbursement.Use data trends to recommend strategies that improve charge capture accuracy and reimbursement outcomes.Maintain accurate documentation of audit activities, findings, and follow-up actions.Work with clinical, financial, and operational departments to address identified issues.Assist in developing training and education for staff on accurate charge capture and billing practices.Support the organizations mission by ensuring accurate reimbursement for services provided.Contribute to maintaining financial efficiency and integrity across the organization.Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


Advanced computer skills. [Required]

Strong planning, analytical and written skills. [Required]

Ability to utilize database, spreadsheets, and word processing to conduct analysis of OR statistical reports. [Required]

Competence with patient care information systems. [Required]

Basic understanding and ability to utilize the nursing process. [Required]



Education:

Associate's of Nursing [Required]

Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]




Work Experience:

1 acute care nursing experience [Required]


2 acute care experience [Preferred]

Relevant Medical Audit Function (medical record and/or bill) Previous OR nurse experience [Preferred]


Licenses and Certifications:

Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
