We are seeking an experienced, solutions-driven, and highly motivated Operations Manager to manage the day-to-day operations of a dynamic sports complex within one of the most distinctive hospitality and event campuses in the country.

This role is ideal for a strong operational leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, values excellence and attention to detail, and is energized by the opportunity to build systems, lead teams, and elevate the overall guest and event experience. The Operations Manager will play a key role in ensuring the facility operates at the highest standard across maintenance coordination, housekeeping coordination, event operations, guest services, front desk administration, operational reporting, staffing support, and overall facility readiness.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Sports at WEC, LLC is leading the development of a premier sports complex at World Equestrian Center &- Ocala, creating an exceptional destination for sports, recreation, and events.

Set within one of the most distinctive hospitality and event campuses in the country, Sports at WEC is designed to support a wide range of programming, including leagues, tournaments, camps, clinics, and special events. The complex will combine high-level athletic programming with the elevated service, attention to detail, and guest experience that define the World Equestrian Center brand.

Phase 1 of the development will include 12 outdoor multi-purpose rectangular fields, featuring 8 natural grass fields and 4 artificial turf fields, establishing a strong foundation for a dynamic sports destination built to serve athletes, teams, event organizers, and guests at a high level.

Long-term plans for the project include additional outdoor field development, a large indoor sports facility expected to support basketball, volleyball, and hockey, and an indoor performance training center. As Sports at WEC continues to grow, it is positioned to become a leading destination for youth, amateur, competitive, and professional sports and athletic programming throughout the region and beyond.

Sports at WEC operates in coordination with the larger World Equestrian Center &- Ocala platform and its affiliated hospitality and operational resources. Full-time team members supporting the sports complex are employed through Columbus Hospitality Management and work in close alignment with Sports at WEC leadership.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

& Overseeing front-line supervisors and team members to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws

& Overseeing the organization and execution of events with a high level of detail

& Serving as the primary operational contact for all events after contract execution

& Supporting event development, internal programming, and outside partnerships

& Assisting with sponsorship activation and event-related support, as needed

& Serving as Manager-on-Duty

& Maintaining close communication with other departments, including Sales, Food & Beverage, Maintenance, and Retail

& Managing health and safety, quality control, expense management, security, procedures, and facility maintenance coordination

& Ensuring staff is prepared for events and daily operations

& Contributing to facility business planning and execution

& Managing operations, guest services, and supporting concessions, retail, and other guest-facing areas.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor’s degree in recreation, sports management, business, hospitality, or related field and 3&-5 years of appropriate experience preferred
  • Food service and food service management experience preferred
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and negotiating skills
  • Must be a team player
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours
  • Must possess current CPR/First Aid certifications or be willing to obtain them within a specified period
  • Prior responsibility in daily P&L management and budget oversight preferred
  • Well organized, efficient, flexible, and able to meet deadlines

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds waist high
  • May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop, or bend
  • Will be required to operate a computer
