Job Summary

The Center for Academic Success (CfAS) Department is currently seeking a Temporary Tutor to join their team of professionals.

Duties include:

  • Conducts individual, small group, and/or online tutoring sessions.
  • Reviews classroom or curricula topics and assignments.
  • Assists students with homework, projects, test preparation, papers, research and other academic tasks.
  • Works with students to help them understand key concepts, especially those learned in the classroom.
  • Provides students positive and constructive feedback.
  • Participate in tutor training sessions/meetings.
  • Support projects appropriate to the department functions.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma and 1 year of experience in subject areas.
  • Proficiency in the subject-areas to be tutored.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments.
  • Ability to relate with students from varying education, cultural, and social backgrounds.
  • At least two instructor recommendations
