Lockheed Martin Space is seeking an Electrical Systems Integration and Manufacturing Engineer at Kennedy Space Center, Florida to plan and author procedures for the Orion Spacecraft Elements Team and provide floor support for Mechanical and Electrical Integration environments.
The applicant will perform specific duties to include, but are not limited to:
- Plans and authors procedures for the Orion Spacecraft Elements Team and provides floor support for a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Performs various duties including creating and/or developing harness installation, Instrumentation/sensor installation, thermal prep integration and component integration, manufacturing work instructions.
- Determines the sequence of build, selecting or designing required tools, and solves production problems during the build of mechanical/electrical integration and assemblies.
- Review, provide feedback and sign off on Engineering Drawings and CAD models.
- Manages time effectively and ability to work independently with minimal oversight .
- Trouble shoot and correct anomalies with discrepant hardware.
- Effective communicator, routinely interfaces with program personnel and reports project status to leadership.
- Assist in training and onboarding efforts.
- Find and assist process improvement efforts.
- Primarily supporting 2nd shift on a 9-80 schedule B-Track (approximately 12pm-9:30pm). On occasion may need to support weekend shifts as needed to support program needs. - Experience with Engineering Change Management.
- 1 years of experience demonstrating use of SAP or similar ERP/MES software for generating manufacturing work instructions, routings, product structure, and manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM).
- Experience and understanding of configuration management practices and databases such as Windchill, EPDM, or similar.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software such as Creo Parametric, CreoView, EdgeCAM, Delmia
- Experience with harness routing/assembly, instrumentation, adhesive mounts, and electrical components (hardware) installations. General electrical integration, routing and mating in an aerospace production environment. - Bachelor's degree (Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical or Manufacturing preferred) and 1 years of experience
- Maintain a positive, collaborative attitude and contribute to a constructive workplace culture.
- Perform assigned duties with competence, reliability, and a focus on quality outcomes.
- Knowledge of production manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Knowledge of Design For Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM/DFMA).
- Experience reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings and providing technical feedback to engineering.
- Advanced Skills in the Microsoft Office software suite.
- Position is permanently located on-site at KSC, FL. Ability to travel as necessary.
