General Description/Primary Purpose
The College Communications Coordinator supports the planning, execution, and day-to-day coordination of marketing and communications activities for the Coggin College of Business, a professional business school environment serving undergraduate, graduate, executive, alumni, and corporate audiences. The position focuses on content development, coordination, and implementation. The role works under the direction of the Dean of the Coggin College of Business and exercises independent judgment within established guidelines, priorities, brand standards, and business-school-focused messaging. The role works closely with the CCB Assistant Director of Operations and Communications and UNF Marketing and Communications to assure consistency of messaging and coordination of resources.
Job Functions
Communications & Content Coordination
Coordinate the development and distribution of marketing and communications materials supporting academic programs, centers, institutes, corporate partnerships, and student success initiatives.
Draft, edit, and format feature stories, announcements, social media posts, web content, newsletters, and promotional materials for professional and external audiences.
Assist with interviews, press releases, recaps, and feature stories highlighting faculty expertise, research impact, student outcomes, alumni success, and industry engagement.
Monitor and report progress monthly and annually on Key Communication Performance Indicators.
Digital & Web Support
Maintain and update the Coggin College of Business web presence, including writing, editing, and publishing webpages.
Ensure web content complies with university policies, Internet Presence Committee standards, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), and applicable accreditation-related communication expectations.
Conduct routine accessibility checks and assist with ADA documentation processes.
Event & Media Support
Coordinate photography, video recording, and same-day or live coverage of lectures, conferences, student competitions, corporate engagement activities, and alumni events.
Assist with scheduling media coverage and coordinating requests with internal and external partners.
Support preparation of visual and multimedia assets for use across platforms.
Coordination & Collaboration
Collaborate with UNF Marketing & Communications, Public Relations, Enrollment Services, Advancement, and other university units on business-school-specific initiatives.
Track projects, deadlines, approvals, and deliverables using established workflows and tools.
Brand & Compliance Support
Ensure marketing and communications materials follow University Visual Identity Guidelines and Coggin College of Business brand standards.
Support consistent professional messaging, tone, and visual standards across all communications.
Student & Operational Support
Provide functional guidance to student interns and OPS employees, including task coordination and training support.
Assist with onboarding, required trainings, and documentation for student communications staff.
Required Qualifications
Master's or Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in communications, marketing, public relations, digital media, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience as permitted by university and state guidelines. Prefer 3-5 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Skills and Competencies
Strong professional writing and editing skills with the ability to translate complex business and academic concepts for varied audiences.
Familiarity with web content management systems and social media platforms.
Understanding of brand consistency and accessibility standards in a professional or business school environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a collaborative, fast-paced setting.
